I have written the book "Personal Testimony" to honor my husband Demos Tsokas who, as captain of ELAS, devoted some of the best years of his life to the struggle for the liberation of Greece from the Nazi invaders. As far as "Comrade Juliana" is concerned, Demos told me the bare plot of the story which moved me deeply... In the poems I express my feelings of loneliness, particularly after the death of my husband Demos. I sometimes search for a savior who could be a grandchild or a beloved friend. In any case, my wish is that my readers will find that my poems express some of their feelings as well.
