Place is like an allegory, can be read like a poem and felt like a feeling; this is how Walter Benjamin described the notion of place in his study about Charles Baudelaire Les fleurs du mal. And that was the idea that, at first, inspired me to write this book: To present captivating places in Greece and let my readers enjoy them like poems, feel their energy, learn about their history and understand them as allegories that tell a lot about tragic human fate.
